There is nothing more satisfying than creating a well laid table for festive parties. When out walking, it’s easy to pick up inspiration for styling the perfect table, and vases of winter foliage dotted along the centre of the table or fallen branches can add instant glamour to the setting.
I love to tie ribbon to the stems of wine glasses and roll napkins up with brown string – all of these touches are inexpensive to achieve and can be used over again, what ever time of year.
Grey is one of my favourite colours, whether in my wardrobe or in my home, and it peeks up in my day to day life frequently. Whether it’s charcoal or marl, it’s the perfect hue to inject a feeling of calm.
With the cold snap that we’re experiencing at the moment, I thought it would be the ideal opportunity to collate an inspirations board dedicated to all things grey…
This has got to be the cutest christmas inspiration I’ve seen yet. Put your festive figurines up there with your silver tray by encasing them within glass cake stands and vintage bell jars…utter perfection, in my humble opinion!
This crystal drop chandelier is magical. The gold accents from the full length gilt mirror with the metallic plant tray compliments the glowing light. I really like the combination of old and new in this dining room, perfectly balanced and welcoming.
One of my favourite parts of Christmas is wrapping the presents. It’s a brilliant opportunity to go all out with your creative inspiration and give a gift that is not only beautifully presented, but also a touch hand crafted.
I’m a big fan of ribbons (I even have a ribbons drawer!) and think that recycling is ideal when it comes to gift wrapping. This year I plan on wrapping my presents in news print, using neon ribbon knotted in large bows and stitching my gift tags myself.
A few months ago, I collated this post which expressed my love for maps. I came across this striking image on Pinterest and had to share it with you.
Maybe it’s the buttoned settee that is sat pretty in front of the intricately detailed map, or the blue cushion and flooring which picks out the greys and blues in the map…who knows, but i do know that I love it!
