Today is the first birthday of the Hana & George blog!
This year has simply flown by and I am still appreciative to everyone who follows and reads my little ‘visual sketchbook’ for their lovely words and support along my creative journey. It is flattering to know that what started out as a personal documentation, is now a source of inspiration and creativity, not just for myself, but for others too!

Recently I have been craving a city break. I love the adventure of a long weekend, soaking up the culture of other beautiful cities and the architecture and attractions they offer. There is nothing more relaxing than long strolls along cobbled streets, long lunches and visits to art galleries and historical sites.

My inspirations for this week have come from an array of mediums, but they’re all fused together by their decorative nature. The collections of wooden box-like frames are as artistic and beautiful as they are practical and I love the combination of trinkets which, at first look, appear jumbled but when inspected closer I noticed that each trinket, shell and treasure has it’s place.

Pinch, punch, first of the month!
I always think that once March appears, spring isn’t far behind. That lovely time of year when colour seems to appear everywhere, the nights get a lot lighter and everyone is a little perkier. I have to admit, I am a lover of winter but the arrival of a little warmth is always welcomed by myself.

My all time favourite ‘nosey’ website has to be Closet Visit. I love snooping through other peoples homes and their fabulous wardrobes, it is pretty much a girls dreams come true!
I was recently having a lazy weekend with Closet Visit and came across the beautiful home and wardrobe of Deborah Kaplan, who is a screen writer who lives in Hollywood. Her home is as beautifully eclectic as her wardrobe and I love the vintage accessories dotted around her haven.

I love the luxurious use of purples in this collection of images. The use of velvet on the vibrant bedspread and the iconically shaped chairs graced with the bright colour are perfection. Even though purple is thought to be quite a bold colour, I love the relaxing feel that the colour offers to all three rooms.
