Green with Envy

It has always been a concern for many that if you welcome a dark shade paint into your home then you fear making the room look smaller, and perhaps the wall to ceiling colour could be oppressive. However, these three interiors prove this to not be the case. Each room is bought alive with colour, textures and prints and the block colour is broken up by the art on the walls and the eclectic furniture that each room holds.

Open

I always think that there is little reason to have possessions if you can’t see them. I think that beauty should be displayed and when things are on show, they also create interest within a room. With this in mind, I am pro open shelving.

What is your view on a well stacked shelf? Do you like to see all on display, or do you prefer to keep items behind closed doors?

Happy Monday!

Bygone Era

Stepping into this Parisian apartment is like stepping back into a bygone era. Since 1942, this stunning home has been left untouched by it’s owner Madame de Florian. During World War Two, the socialite left her apartment with the plan to return after the war, but never did. After her death in 2010, the first person to turn the key into this piece of history after 68 years was an auctioneer.

Sit & Eat

As a follow on from last weeks post, Hearty Home, I thought I’d collate some images of lovely dining areas. Whether you’ve got a separate dining area or one joined to your kitchen, I think that creating a nice environment to entertain in is important. I like to team eclectic pieces of furniture to create a quirky feel and add colour and texture with textiles.

If you want to see more of my inspirations for creating a beautiful area to sit & eat, check out the Hana & George Pinterest page.

Chateau

Not only is this Italian chateau from the 17th-century, it’s beauty and interiors are as enrapturing as its history.

Each room is decorated with a combination of French and Italian antiques to create a grand, yet welcoming atmosphere. Through every doorway appears to be visual treasures, stunning upholstery and ornate details.

SWOON.

By My Side

I am on a quest for the perfect side tables but haven’t quite found what I am looking for yet, so thought I’d turn to Pinterest for some inspiration.

I like to have my side tables piled with books, photos, flowers and a lamp. and love the idea of having a rectangular shaped ones for each side. What do you have by your beside?

You can take a peek at further of my inspirations at the Hana & George Pinterest page, too!

Encased

I believe that beauty should be preserved, and with this in mind, I adore the idea of encasing special items within glass bell jars. The jars are delicate and beautiful in their structure, but when they are storing treasures they’re magical.

A bell jar is the perfect accessory to your sideboards and dressing tables…you could grace them with cacti, candles, your favourite perfume and flowers, what ever takes your fancy!

As many of you will know, whenever I have a spare few minutes I always venture over to Pinterest for a mooch. Recently, I have come across so many lovely images of living rooms adorned with books, beautiful furniture and treasures that I thought I’d collate a post on my finds!

Converted Flair

Welcome to the home of Kate and Andy Spade.

This stunning home is a converted art school which has been transformed into an eclectic home, whilst also preserving its beautiful history and features. I love the diverse collection of furniture from an array of eras and the unique flair that has been added to their home.

Relaxing Perfection

I love the luxurious use of purples in this collection of images. The use of velvet on the vibrant bedspread and the iconically shaped chairs graced with the bright colour are perfection. Even though purple is thought to be quite a bold colour, I love the relaxing feel that the colour offers to all three rooms.

Happy Friday!
