I have found myself inspired by light this week. The way that the evening sun beams through the windows and how things appear different at certain times of the day. For me the light of summer is always magical – the strong sun of the morning welcoming another day and the dull, romantic shimmer of the evening….

I thought that I’d add a weekly feature to the blog that is a collection of four images that I have found through my research of the week and would like to share with you. The images inspirational value will differ and some may just be the occasional pretty image, naturally, but all the images will have something in common – that being that they have impacted on my thought process & have turned on that artistic bulb inside of me.

I love mixing textures and patterns in rooms and a rug is the perfect way of doing so. Whether you like traditional or contemporary styles, a rug can add interest and lead the eye into the room. Rugs were always something that passed me by previously when decorating a room, but I am now on the hunt for the perfect vibrant beauty for my home. As many of you will know, I am constantly busy on Pinterest sourcing inspiring images. The quote that ‘a picture says a thousand words’ is too true when it comes to gaining creativity, as I have found through my adventure with collating my boards.

Fabrics are one of life’s true pleasures and I love to examine how fabric can be manipulated to create such beautiful things. I just can’t get enough of Pinterest. I love browsing through the different categories and setting my eyes on stunning imagery and inspirational ideas. I like to create boards and fill them with my loves and enjoy seeing how other users curate their pages. It’s such a clever way of bouncing creative ideas off one another.
