I love lighting and love the mood that it sets in an evening, especially if the light fitting is adorned with a stunning light shade. The light created can be decided by the colour shade that you decide to choose – red and yellow tones will give off a warm light, where as blue and green hues project a cooler light. If you want to create an impact with your lighting, grouping several shades together will give your room an eclectic focal point.

Lighting is an inexpensive way of bringing your room to life. I love the dull glow of a table lamp or a large drummed pendent light controlled by a dimmer switch. I am a huge fan of a lovely lampshade and they can be as simple or outrageous as you desire! I have always been interested in taking a course on how to do it so that I could adorn my home with vintage florals and textured beauties…

Happy Wednesday!

Pink Shade

The best way to describe my relationship with this lamp shade? Love at first sight.

Maybe it’s the explosion of colour against the grey wall, or the orange squiggly cord…whatever it is, I think it’s the perfect combination of quirky and fun.

What do you think?

Table Desire

I’ve always wanted a telephone table. I’m unsure why I’ve had such a desire but I find them to be so chic and are the perfect size to fill that blank space in a hallway or in the corner of your lounge. As times have moved on and one no longer sits down at the table to take calls, they’re ideal for holding a lamp or for stacking books on.

Does anyone else hold such a love?

Corkin’ Idea

A cork bedside lamp is the perfect storage for your memories and trinkets. You can pin your favourite photos, vintage brooches and earrings in the cork and let them be the first thing you see at night and the first thing you see in the morning! Perfect.

Happy weekend!
