Imaging Words

There is an expression that an image tells a thousand words. Well, if thats the case then these images tell four thousand words and for me, they highlight the perfect way to spend a weekend…

LOVE.

By My Side

I am on a quest for the perfect side tables but haven’t quite found what I am looking for yet, so thought I’d turn to Pinterest for some inspiration.

I like to have my side tables piled with books, photos, flowers and a lamp. and love the idea of having a rectangular shaped ones for each side. What do you have by your beside?

You can take a peek at further of my inspirations at the Hana & George Pinterest page, too!

Parisian Chic

If you love art, architecture and beauty, this book on the homes of Parisian Ambassadors is for you. The book is written by Alain Stella and the stunning photography is the work of Francis Hammond.

Such homes are normally kept behind doors, only for a select few to view, but this book has opened the doors and allows all to see the extraordinary homes within.

Wishing you all a lovely week!

For All to See

Sometimes I think it’s instinct to tidy everything away and to give items their own place within your home, but this week my inspiration has come from having beauty displayed for all to see. Whether it’s vintage books stacked high on mantlepieces or stunning textiles hung from doors and hooks, such loveliness should be out for you to admire and adore.

Happy Friday!

Statement

Mantlepieces are such romantic statements in a room, especially when they are as decorative as these two! I have collated a post before (see here) on the versatility of a mantle and I thought I’d put together these two images to inspire you further. I  love the idea of using candles to replicate a fire.

Happy Wednesday!

Eclectic Library

The mixture of prints, colours and textures in this stunning library is the perfect eclectic interior collection for me. The stark white shelves, table and stools offset the bold print of the floral curtains which frame the light from the window, which beams onto the table of circular books.

LOVE.

Lost Afternoon

For me, a coffee table stacked high with interesting books is a dream come true! I could dwindle away hours flicking through the pages and this coffee table looks like the perfect afternoon. I especially love the bright tulips, circling the gold rim of the table. Swoon.

Happy Friday!

Suspended Text

Here is another quirky way of adding interest to a bare space that needs to be filled – suspend your favourite magazines or books along a wall!

This is the ideal way of adding constant interest to your home without committing to anything for the long term. You could update the space with your preferred monthly subscriptions or your book reads and save your favourite pages.

I think this is a must for my workshop…
