I think there is something enchanting about each one of these photographs. The romanticism of layers of colour, texture and design styles stacked up on one another, as occupiers have developed through an interior design journey. Like upholstery, these walls are created of layers and the one thing that makes the wall unique is the wallpaper that dresses the wall, like fabric to a chair…

Selby’d
Welcome to the eclectic Manhattan home of writer & interior designer Rita Konig.
I have always been a huge fan of ‘The Selby’, and his ability to capture people relaxed in their own environments and this is no different. I love how chaotic and fun it is, the mixture of old and new sitting harmoniously amongst colour and texture.
LOVE.

Under Beauty
I believe that we are all responsible for preserving history, and avoiding the effects of becoming a throw away society. With this thought, this weeks inspiration comes from the peeling of wallpaper and what beauty lies beneath. Many people strip the previous paper before hanging the new but these four special images highlight the past lives and people that have lived or worked within the walls that are papered.
Happy Friday!

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a sucker for a beautiful bathroom. I think a bathroom is an area in a home that can be a little more quirky and so they should be! A stunning roll top bath is quite simply love in cast iron.
Here is a little collection of images that I’ve put together to share with you all of my ideal bathrooms. I could quite happily lose hours submerged in bubbles…

This crystal drop chandelier is magical. The gold accents from the full length gilt mirror with the metallic plant tray compliments the glowing light. I really like the combination of old and new in this dining room, perfectly balanced and welcoming.
Happy Thursday!
Cut Glass
I’m a girl who’s very fond of her trinkets & treasures, but I’m also just as fond of organisation and being able to find things when I want them! I am on a constant quest to find all my belongings a home and my latest one is cute and practical…
I found this 1930’s cut glass canapés tray in a little antiques shop for £11 and it’s the ideal size to store all my jewellery on my dressing table. Perfect.
Hand Painted
Oh my, how stunning are these walls?
I was having a snoop around Pinterest this weekend and came across an image of this hand painted wallpaper. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to investigate further and it turns out that the walls of this tiny apartment are all enveloped in this wallpaper from the 18th century!
