Over the festive period, I spent a lot of time browsing around in books, magazines and online at imagery and articles. With that, I thoughts I would kick off my first January post with a few images that influenced me. All of the images are different and they don’t all tie together but they all have attention to detail in common – the craftsmanship that has gone into creating every item is stunning.
As many of you would have gathered by now, I am a believer of having beauty of display and like to make the most of the simplest of ideas. I have recently been collating ideas for the new abode I think that I will be replacing the traditional cork board for clip boards as a way of having the everyday on display!
I’ve always had a slight obsession with stationary and my latest love is Washi Tape. Washi is the perfect accessory to any drawer and can be used for practically anything, from hanging postcards to your walls or creating art in your home. This week so far I have used it to make a birthday card for a friend and hang some notes up in my workshop…and it’s only Monday!
If you’re a keen traveller and want to have a cute reminder of where you’ve visited and when, then this is the perfect inspiration for you. You can pin a map to a board and use tacks to point locations, and then hang tabs with the dates you went or memories from your stay.
Not only is this idea functional and a constant source of conversation for your family and friends, it’s your own piece of art that will be unique to you.
