Rugged Up

I love mixing textures and patterns in rooms and a rug is the perfect way of doing so. Whether you like traditional or contemporary styles, a rug can add interest and lead the eye into the room. Rugs were always something that passed me by previously when decorating a room, but I am now on the hunt for the perfect vibrant beauty for my home. I completely love the blues and oranges in the second image…

Unique Touch

This striking living room is a dream come true. The eclectic mix of vintage furniture, embellished with textured velvets, clashing prints and brushed brick walls is a visual delight.

My favourite aspect of the room has to be the floral backed settee, it’s a unique touch on a traditionally shaped piece of furniture and is the perfect welcome to the room.

LOVE.

Above the Mantle

If you’re lucky enough to have a beautiful fireplace and mantlepiece as a focal point in your home, use it to the best of it’s ability!

Use the shelf of the mantle to hold cute cards or invitations you’ve received, scatter candles elegantly along it or use it as a bookcase. The possibilities are endless. I love mantlepieces and fire places so much that I’ve got a Pinterest board dedicated to them!

Here’s a little inspiration for your own piece of mantle perfection…

Look Forward

Adding multiple narrow rugs to a hallway or corridor is a genius way of allowing the eye to work along the area to an eye catching piece. In this instance, the chair welcomes the viewer to the end of their journey. I love the bright, modern rugs and chair fabric as a contrast to the ornate and vintage details.
