Shaded

I love lighting and love the mood that it sets in an evening, especially if the light fitting is adorned with a stunning light shade. The light created can be decided by the colour shade that you decide to choose – red and yellow tones will give off a warm light, where as blue and green hues project a cooler light. If you want to create an impact with your lighting, grouping several shades together will give your room an eclectic focal point.

SWOON.

Clipped

As many of you would have gathered by now, I am a believer of having beauty of display and like to make the most of the simplest of ideas. I have recently been collating ideas for the new abode I think that I will be replacing the traditional cork board for clip boards as a way of having the everyday on display!

I hope you’re all having a lovely week!

Layer Up

With autumn definitely arriving with a ‘thud’ I have begun to plan for the winter hibernation! I love to make my bed even more inviting at this time of year and love to team plain, cotton bedlinen with patterned and textured bedspreads, throws and cushions. I have put a little inspiration together to share with you all on how I’ll be dressing my boudoir for the chill…

Global

As a keen traveller, I am always looking to plan for my next adventure to experience new cultures and places and I love the idea of having antique and vintage globes on display. Not only are they visually beautiful but they also come in a variety of shapes and sizes which make them an interesting vignette on a side table or above a bookcase.

Happy Monday!

Al Fresco

It may be September but we still seem to be graced by such glorious weather that I intend on making the most of it. It won’t be long until autumn comes along and we’re greeted by the burnt hues of the season, but until then, I am making the most of having relaxing dinners outside with friends and family.

Here are a few lovely images that I have found to act as inspiration when laying the table and for creating the perfect evening setting…

Rural

I once again need to apologise for my blogging absence, I have been knee deep in boxes and packing material as we’re in the process of moving house and relocating to a rural existence. However, the worst of the moving is now over and I am back and more inspired than ever.

I have still been busy in the workshop and have been doing lots of research and today’s post is a little taste of what I have discovered online. If you want to see more visual loveliness, browse the Hana & George Pinterest page.

Wishing you all a lovely week and thank you all for your continued viewing of my little virtual sketchbook!
