Cosy Fires

Firstly, let me apologise for my blogging hiatus. August came and went in the blink of an eye! The workshop has been a hive of creation and I appear to have got lost within it all. Fear not, though! I am back!

I have been busy on Pinterest and thought I would share the images that I’ve been pinning with you! I can’t believe that September is here, roll on roaring fires and evenings of hibernation. I love autumn.

Green with Envy

It has always been a concern for many that if you welcome a dark shade paint into your home then you fear making the room look smaller, and perhaps the wall to ceiling colour could be oppressive. However, these three interiors prove this to not be the case. Each room is bought alive with colour, textures and prints and the block colour is broken up by the art on the walls and the eclectic furniture that each room holds.

Journey

I think there is something enchanting about each one of these photographs. The romanticism of layers of colour, texture and design styles stacked up on one another, as occupiers have developed through an interior design journey. Like upholstery, these walls are created of layers and the one thing that makes the wall unique is the wallpaper that dresses the wall, like fabric to a chair…

Blush

As well as being considered to be a romantic shade, I also find dusky pink to be a calming hue. In every magazine I peek into, pastel shades seem to spring up and I have also collated a Pinterest page for all the inspiring images I find.

In our garden, we had the lovely surprise of finding out that the bottom of our path is home to stained pink roses at this time of year! Lovely British summer time goodness.

Swanning About

Last year, I fell in love with this swan bed! Admittedly, it isn’t to everyones taste but the idea of waking up encased in the body of a swan seems idyllic to me! It now appears that the imaginary day of one day getting a birdy bed may also be taken al fresco with a swan bench…

SWOON!

Fresh Coat

Vintage birdy imagery, light and nature have all played a part in this weeks inspirations. The arrival of glorious sunshine has left me with the need to update my workshop and this weekend shall be spent with ‘Brilliant White’ emulsion. Watch this space.

Seeded

There are a few things in life that are too beautiful to simply to tossed away once their primary use has been exhausted, and the stunning vintage seed packets are one of those things. With their vibrant designs, kitsch colour ways and nostalgic beauty, they’re perfect to be grouped together in frames and proudly displayed.

Highlight

With the clocks going forward this weekend, I feel as though the last few months have just flown by! I’m looking forward to longer days and fresh flowers from the garden, burst of colour in my home highlighted by the daylight shining through the windows and opened toed shoes…rock n’ roll, I know.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Plated

So, I have decided to start collecting plates. Any shapes, size, colour and design and I’m going to proudly display them in my home. I’ve always been attracted to ceramics and the beautiful designs and colours that have spanned the decades, and constantly come across one of plates on my travels. Watch this space…

Happy Friday to you lovely lot, too!

Light/Dark

The union of light and dark is one of my favourite combinations to play with in interiors. It can be dramatic or subtle, dependent on the colour contrast you go for and can be a way of making a real impact in a room, whether it be using paint, wallpaper or fabrics…

Wishing you all a lovely week!
