Romantic

With the exceptional weather we’ve been experiencing over the last few weeks, I have been trying to spend as much time outside as possible. The flowers are all in beautiful bloom and it feels almost romantic to be able to have my morning coffee in the sunshine.

Long may it continue, I say!

Blush

As well as being considered to be a romantic shade, I also find dusky pink to be a calming hue. In every magazine I peek into, pastel shades seem to spring up and I have also collated a Pinterest page for all the inspiring images I find.

In our garden, we had the lovely surprise of finding out that the bottom of our path is home to stained pink roses at this time of year! Lovely British summer time goodness.

Fresh Coat

Vintage birdy imagery, light and nature have all played a part in this weeks inspirations. The arrival of glorious sunshine has left me with the need to update my workshop and this weekend shall be spent with ‘Brilliant White’ emulsion. Watch this space.

To check out the results, why not follow the H&G Intagram?

Outdoor Love

When we moved to our new home, I was fortunate enough to be able to have my own little studio/workshop in the garden and, with the arrival of Spring, it is a really inspiring place to be. On a day like today I open the double doors and have all the windows open, so I am pretty much working outside. It’s heaven!

Here are a few outdoor lovelies which I have been collating on my Pinterest page. Maybe I should plan an extension on the H&G HQ?

{Sorry for the blogging absence – I have been unwell for the last few weeks so have been taking some time out!}

Highlight

With the clocks going forward this weekend, I feel as though the last few months have just flown by! I’m looking forward to longer days and fresh flowers from the garden, burst of colour in my home highlighted by the daylight shining through the windows and opened toed shoes…rock n’ roll, I know.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Sweetest Pea

My love for a Sweet Pea blooming vase knows no bounds. I have always bought sweet peas from florists and markets in the past due to the lack of outside space, but this year I plan on growing them myself. The seeds have been planted and they have began to germinate…

BOOM!

Weathered

As soon as the sun shines, whatever the temperature, I have a desire to instantly be outside. As the nights have become lighter and the days of sunshine are becoming a reality I have been gathering inspiration for my garden seating area. I want the space to be relaxing, comfortable and to also merge into its alfresco surroundings…

Al Fresco

It may be September but we still seem to be graced by such glorious weather that I intend on making the most of it. It won’t be long until autumn comes along and we’re greeted by the burnt hues of the season, but until then, I am making the most of having relaxing dinners outside with friends and family.

Here are a few lovely images that I have found to act as inspiration when laying the table and for creating the perfect evening setting…

Shimmer

…Whether it’s the sun reflecting off the aluminium shell of an airstream, or the way that the light picks up the tones of the  rhinestones embedded within a necklace, I find that different textures can be ‘shown off’ in different ways, at different times off the day.

Swan Lake

You’ll either love this bed or hate it, but for me it is utterly stunning! The way that the bed is centre within the room and ‘sat’ within calm hues and on a blue rug instantly reminds me of a swan drifting down a lake shimmering in the summer sun…

SWOON.
